What is the weather forecast for Colorado Springs on August 19 | Weather

After last weekend’s record-breaking heat, temperatures will be cooler across the region on Monday, with temperatures expected to range between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius in the Plains.

Maximum temperatures in the mountain valleys will be between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius on Monday afternoon.

“Stormy skies will be the main reason for the cooler weather today,” said meteorologist Alan Rose of Gazette media partner KOAA. “Between noon and 2 p.m., storms will begin to brew in the Pikes Peak region and will gain strength as they move into the High Plains.”

Rose predicts all types of severe weather are possible today along and east of the I-25 corridor, including potentially hailstones up to 1.5 inches in diameter, wind gusts up to 66 mph, flooding and a slight risk of tornadoes.

Outlook:

“Our high temperature on Tuesday will be near 90 degrees, with early morning sunshine in Colorado Springs giving way to isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon,” Rose said. “Thunderstorm coverage overall looks to be a little less widespread than today (Monday).”

Rose is forecasting further monsoon rains for midweek, which could bring the possibility of more numerous storms, heavy rains and flooding from Wednesday into Thursday.

“High temperatures in Colorado Springs will remain above 80 degrees late this week, with storm chances decreasing through Friday and into next weekend,” Rose said.
