Tamron Hall received a not-so-pleasant surprise when her son stole her cell phone.

On Wednesday, August 7, the 53-year-old talk show host posted a video on Instagram announcing the unexpected birth of her five-year-old son, Moses, whom she has with husband Steven Greener.

“I was on the phone with work a few minutes ago when there was a knock on my door. It was my grocery delivery for the week,” the author explained, adding that she was “close to tears.”

She continued, “I looked at my grocery shopping… My son, he’s 5, secretly opened the app and ordered 75 yellow onions totaling almost $90.”

“What am I supposed to do with 75 yellow onions?” Hall asked her followers worriedly as she dug her hand through the large bag of vegetables. Then she hilariously tipped the bag of onions onto the ground and shouted, “That’s a whole bag of onions!”

“And there are two more bags!” added the mother of one at the end of the video.

There are more layers to this story. Later that day, Hall posted an update on the situation, which she called “Oniongate.” In a second Instagram reel, Hall and Moses are seen getting into the car.

“Now we are on our way to donate, how many?” the A confident chef asked the author, turning to her son in the back seat.

“75!” the five-year-old shouted excitedly.

“75 onions, we will donate them to the food bank,” Hall said.

“Let’s go!” Moses cheered.

The sweet idea to donate the vegetables actually came from Hall’s fans and followers who commented on the first video.

“Many of you told us to donate and we did!!! 🙏🏾🙌🏾,” she wrote in her caption.
