What to Read This Lit Girl Summer Based on the Album You Keep Listening to

Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean Lit Girl Summer has to end – it’s a never-ending state of mind!

In case you missed it, let us bring you up to speed. Elle recently coined the term “Lit Girl Summer” to highlight all the celebrities and “It Girls” who Love to read. What could be better than spending a day at the beach, flipping through the pages of your latest read and soaking up a little sun? We’re absolute pros at this, and although the summer sun disappears faster than we think, the state of mind that Lit Girl Summer exudes remains throughout all four seasons.

While we are 100% here for Lit Girl Summer, we can’t forget to mention the music girls who are leading the charge right now: Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter. Of course, these three ladies are quite They’re always on the go, singing and making music, but we wonder what they’re reading. So naturally, we’ve put together a Lit Girl Summer reading list to match their energy.

Chappell Roan:

Charli is a music icon, and this summer, you could hardly go anywhere without hearing the words “Brat Summer.” Since Charli played such a big role in creating the vibe of summer, it only makes sense that these books are on her TBR list (so she can read them after celebrating Brat Summer, of course). It’s hard to put into words what Brat Summer really is, but all we can say is that these books BRAT approved.

WHOEVER YOU ARE, DARLING by Olivia Gatwood

Explores loneliness and desire. Play “Sympathy is a Knife” on repeat while you read.

Carpenter exudes a feminine energy that is so iconic that we just had to include her in this roundup – we love everything about her, but her fashion (and perfect Hair), energy and mood are just too good.

A story full of obsession, revenge and love (things get “nasty”). Mysteries and unexpected twists.
