What you should know about the Green Day concert in Milwaukee at American Family Field

play

It took 17 years for Green Day to return to Milwaukee, but today the band can’t get enough of it.

Billie Joe Armstrong and his band brought their Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater for Summerfest in 2021. Last year they were the first headliner at the now two-year-old Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival in Veterans Park.

And on Saturday, they return to Milwaukee again for a stop on their “Saviors Tour” at American Family Field. But even if you’ve seen Green Day’s last few local performances, this next show at Milwaukee Brewers Ballpark will be a lot different than the other two.

Here you will find everything you need to know before you leave.

When do the doors open for the Green Day concert in Milwaukee? When does it start?

Parking at American Family Field opens at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, three hours before the first band takes the stage. That gives fans plenty of time to park and get into the party. And it might be a good idea to get there early. Even though the show is on a Saturday, that should help traffic, but the closer it gets to show time, the longer the lines will get. Expect lines at the stadium’s five entrances, too; however, since the gates don’t open until 4 p.m., you’ll have plenty of time to get into the stadium.

How much is parking for the Green Day concert?

General parking fee in advance: $25, preferred parking: $40. brewers.com/greenday. You can wait to pay for parking on-site, but rates will go up — $35 for general parking, $50 for preferred parking — and the Brewers can’t guarantee a spot.

How to get to the concert if you don’t want to drive

There are two Milwaukee County Transit System bus routes that drop people off within walking distance of the stadium: the CONNECT1 on Wisconsin Avenue and the 18 on National Avenue. Go to fahrschule-dresden.de for timetables, fare information and more.

Taxi pickup and drop-off will be outside of Helfaer Field, while Uber and Lyft drop-off and drop-off will be in the Gantner parking lot at American Family Field—but expect large rideshare crowds after the concert.

Some of the bars and restaurants that offer shuttles to Brewers games will be open. See the American Family Field section on brewers.com for further details.

Are Green Day tickets still available? How much do they cost?

There are still enough tickets available first hand via ticketmaster.comfrom $34 to $949 for a seat in the pit, which includes access to a pre-show acoustic set with opener The Smashing Pumpkins, as well as an exclusive merch bag and access to a special lounge and merch area. These tickets do not include fees. Resale tickets are also available through the Ticketmaster concert page, starting at $27, with no fees.

I have a seat in the stalls. How do I get to the playing field?

Anyone with a pit ticket or seat in sections A through P must present their ticket barcode to receive a wristband before proceeding to the field. Wristbands are available on the field level near sections 109 and 118, as well as just inside the third base gate, left field gate and associated bank gate.

What are the bag policies for the Green Day concert at American Family Field?

Diaper bags and medically necessary items are allowed, but otherwise three types of bags are permitted: single-compartment bags measuring 9 x 5 x 2 inches or smaller; clear single-compartment tote bags measuring 12 x 12 x 6 inches or smaller; and clear, sealable bags with a capacity of 1 gallon. All bags are subject to inspection.

Who is opening for Green Day at American Family Field?

The Smashing Pumpkins — the Chicago alt-rock veterans who were last seen in Milwaukee in 2022 headlining the Fiserv Forum — are the main opening acts, but they’re not the only ones. The Pumpkins will be preceded by seminal punk band Rancid. The Linda Lindas, a band of teenagers who went viral thanks to clips of their feminist punk set at the Los Angeles Public Library (and who made a strong impression at the Fiserv Forum last year opening for Paramore), will open the show at 5:30 p.m.

What are Green Day expected to play in Milwaukee?

The tour is named after Green Day’s “Saviors,” so expect to see some songs from their latest album. But fans will be most excited to hear not one but two of the band’s most successful albums – “Dookie” and “American Idiot” – in full, in honor of the 30th and 20th anniversaries of the former and the 20th anniversary of the latter.
