The Colorado Springs area is expected to see partly sunny weather with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms and highs in the 30s, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

A west wind will be blowing at 5 mph, becoming south-southwest later in the morning. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Thunderstorm density is expected to decrease today, but thunderstorm intensity could increase in some areas, particularly along and north of Highway 50.

The primary risk from today’s storms will continue to be excessive rain and flash flooding, with the greatest impacts expected for our burn scars, chalk cliffs, and urban areas. Some stronger storms could also produce hail up to an inch in size and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, primarily along and north of Highway 50.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, high around 28 degrees. Light and variable wind coming from the south-southeast at 8 to 16 km/h in the morning. The probability of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between 0.6 and 1.3 cm possible.

Tuesday: Showers and possibly thunderstorms are likely between noon and 3 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms are likely after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, high around 80 degrees. Light and variable winds becoming south 8 to 10 mph in the morning. There is a 60% chance of precipitation. Precipitation will range from 0.25 to 0.45 inches, but higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: A slight chance of rain before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms between 9 a.m. and noon, then likely showers and possibly thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, high around 30 degrees. West wind 5 to 10 mph, becoming east in the afternoon. A 60% chance of precipitation.

Thursday: Slight chance of rain, after midday chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, high temperature around 30 °C. Northwest wind around 8 km/h, in the afternoon east-southeast. The probability of precipitation is 30%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, maximum temperature around 32 °C. West-southwest wind at 8 to 16 km/h, turning to the south in the afternoon.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, maximum temperature around 30 degrees Celsius. West-northwest wind at around 8 km/h, becoming south-southwest in the afternoon.
