“When he said Kentucky, I said let’s do it.” Lexi Blue explains why she wanted to play for Kenny Brooks

We have already seen that Kenny Brooks has a very, very strong presence on the recruiting circuit. Just look at this Kentucky team he has put together. The freshman class of Lexi Blue, Clara Silva And Tanah Becker was ranked as the 11th best class in the country by ESPN.

Then you have Teonni Key who was a top 10 and five-star recruit in the class of 2021. And that’s just a small part of it. Needless to say, there’s just something about Brooks that recruits really like, and that goes for Lexi Blue, too.

Blue was the 40th draftee in the class of 2024 (ESPN/HoopGurlz), and she was one of the recruits who particularly liked Brooks and his culture.

When asked why she chose Kentucky on media day, her answer was simple: “Coach Brooks,” she said.

“He’s just a really great coach and a really great person as well. During my recruiting process, he was always someone that stood out to me and someone I wanted to play for. When he said Kentucky, I said let’s do it.”
