If you’re like us, you pack up the car and head to the mountains to enjoy the warm glow of the changing fall colors.
Where is the best place to see fall colors in Colorado?
My personal favorite place to go is Grand Mesa in Colorado. It’s just a short drive from Grand Junction and is full of golden shimmering aspen trees.
Another of my favorite routes is Kebbler Pass, which is home to one of the largest stands of aspen trees in the world.
Of course, if you don’t want to stray too far from the beaten path, you can also simply take I-70 to admire the most beautiful fall colors.
When exactly will fall colors peak in Colorado?
It depends on which part of the state you want to visit. If you’re adventurous, you can explore everything Colorado has to offer.
During the second week of September we will see the trees transform from their summer green to their autumnal golds, oranges and reds.
In the higher elevations you may notice some changes in the first week of September or even at the end of August.
