Follow these steps to manually save WhatsApp images to your iPhone:
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp chat from which you want to save a picture or video to your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the Photo received to open it in full screen view.

Where are WhatsApp images stored on Android devices?
When you receive images on Android via WhatsApp, they are stored on both WhatsApp servers and your local storage. You can find them in WhatsApp chat, in the Gallery app, and in a folder in the File Manager. In the Gallery app, you can find WhatsApp images in the “WhatsApp Images” folder and videos in the “WhatsApp Videos” folder.

To find the WhatsApp images folder in the file manager, go to Internal Storage > Android > Media > com.WhatsApp > WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Images. Here you can also find other folders like WhatsApp database folder, videos, audio, GIFs, etc.
Just so you know: This only works on Android 11 and above. On Android 10 and below, the WhatsApp folder is located in Internal storage > WhatsApp.
