After the initial 53-man rosters were benched on Tuesday, NFL teams will now look to sign talent from the waiver list.
Players with less than four years of experience released this week are subject to waivers. The waivers’ list rankings are in reverse order of the previous season’s rankings, so the Carolina Panthers (2-15) are No. 1 and the Kansas City Chiefs (11-6) are No. 32.
When a player is released, teams can file a waiver claim to add that player to their roster. Of the teams that file a claim, the player will be awarded to the team highest in the waiver order.
For example, if the Denver Broncos (No. 12) and the Los Angeles Rams (No. 19) made a claim on the same player, Denver would be awarded the player. Here’s a look at the NFL’s waiver wire order before today’s claims.
