Los Angeles Dodgers Fans lined up for hours on Wednesday as the Major League Baseball team kicked off its official “Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead Night.” Forty thousand lucky fans were able to take home a limited-edition bobblehead featuring the Dodgers’ MVP alongside his dog, Decoy.

Reports say the Ohtani bobbleheads went quickly, and some people had even listed their bobbleheads on eBay before the game ended. At the time of this writing, there were more than 1,500 search results for “Shohei Ohtani bobblehead” on eBay, with prices starting at $150.
So why the demand? Ohtani is of course one of the most popular athletes not only in baseball, but in all of sports. And at the raffle on Wednesday, not only was the pitcher/designated hitter in bobblehead form – he was also holding his dog Decoy. The Dodgers also distributed limited all gold Versions of Ohtani’s character at Wednesday night’s game.
