Chuck Norris has been married to his wife Gena O’Kelley since 1998.

The actor and martial artist first met O’Kelley in 1997 when he was on a dinner date with someone else, but after she played a small role on his show Walker, Texas RangerThe next day he asked her out on a date.

A year later, the couple married and in 2001 they had twins, their son Dakota and their daughter Danilee.

Since then, Norris and O’Kelley have traveled together, attended numerous public events together, and appeared in a commercial together. O’Kelley has supported Norris in his philanthropic work, including serving as co-chair of his nonprofit organization.

In 2021, Norris praised his wife on Facebook, writing, “So proud of my wife Gena. Not only is she a wonderful wife and mother, but she is also a fantastic business owner who never ceases to amaze me with her multitasking skills.”

According to CBN, Norris met O’Kelley in Dallas in 1997 while he was out to dinner with someone else.

Norris wrote about the encounter with his wife in his 2004 book: Against all odds. “Gena came to the set the next day and played a small role in the show… I invited her to dinner that night… I wanted to get to know Gena better, so I asked her to come back to Dallas as soon as possible,” he said. “She came back a few weeks later and our friendship developed into a relationship. It wasn’t long before I realized I was head over heels in love with her.”

O’Kelley and Norris married on November 28, 1998.

She had two children with Norris

O’Kelley and Norris had twins on August 30, 2001 – son Dakota Alan and daughter Danilee Kelley. According to his Instagram profile, Dakota seems to have followed in his father’s footsteps and is a fifth black belt holder in Chun Kuk Do.

O’Kelley is also stepmother to Norris’ three children from previous relationships: Mike, Dina and Eric.

Norris founded the Kick Drugs Out of America Foundation in 1990 and renamed it Kickstart Kids with O’Kelley in 2003. The nonprofit organization’s goal is to teach youth self-determination through karate. Norris and O’Kelley currently serve as co-chairs.

The couple told NewBeauty in 2023 that one of their “favorite shared passions” is giving back to the community. “We founded Kickstart Kids, a really amazing organization that teaches martial arts and character development to students,” they said. “We’ve reached more than 100,000 kids, and the breakthroughs we’ve seen mean the world to us.”

She often appears in public with Norris

Norris and O’Kelley often appear together at various events. In June 2017, they attended Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia, while the previous November they attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500 alongside famous friends including Dennis Quaid and former baseball pitcher Jim Morris.

They also enjoy traveling together. In May 2022, Norris posted an Instagram photo of himself with O’Kelley in Santa Cruz, California, with the caption, “What a wonderful day it was in Santa Cruz with my beautiful wife!”

In November 2021, he celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary with an Instagram post that included a photo of the couple embracing. He wrote, “My love, my life, my best friend, my world. Happy 23rd wedding anniversary to my beautiful wife who God blessed me with when we met 25 years ago. I love you with all my heart.”

O’Kelley and Norris are both passionate fitness and sports fans

O’Kelley and Norris explained to NewBeauty how they incorporate wellness practices into their daily routine. “We try to incorporate them into our day – things like taking a walk on our ranch, meditating and praying, and working out together. Healthy aging is one of our shared priorities, so we’ve developed daily rhythms to nourish our bodies well and stay active,” they said.

“We enjoy our healthy lifestyle, so nothing really feels like an indulgence, but coffee is definitely a popular staple at the Norris Ranch,” they continued. “Also, we generally try not to eat any later than 6 p.m. because we’ve found that this habit helps us wake up full of energy the next morning, but occasionally we break that rule and enjoy dessert in the evening.”

Norris has been a Total Gym fan for years and has appeared in commercials and infomercials for the company. O’Kelley also appeared in a commercial with him.
