Woman speaks out after filing for restraining order against Tri-State police chief

SARDINIA, Ohio (WXIX) – A Brown County woman filed for a restraining order against Sardinia Police Chief Brian Perry, accusing him of stalking her for the past six months.

Lucinda Huddleson said she filed the restraining order several days ago. The order accuses Perry of trying to get her fired, evicted from her home and stalking her outside her home.

Huddleson said the problems with Perry began six months ago after he had contact with her teenage daughter.

“He came up to her, said she smelled like grass, and started sniffing her chest,” Huddleson said.

She said he drove slowly by when she was sitting on her porch or mowing her lawn. She accused him of parking under a tree in her yard and watching her.

Huddleson said she went to the city council and complained, but no action was taken. She said she tried to let the incident go, but blamed Perry for going to her boss to get her fired and her landlord to get her evicted from her home. She decided she needed to go to court to protect herself and her family.

“Being a single mom and raising my daughter is what it’s all about,” Huddleson said.

According to the order, Perry is not allowed to come within 500 feet of Huddleson. He is not allowed to contact her or encourage anyone else to contact her. He is also not allowed to monitor her electronically.

Huddleson said her problems with Perry took their toll.

“I’m not sleeping, I’m stressed,” Huddleson said.

She said she was disappointed that the city council did not suspend him. She felt like she was not believed.

“The City Council is behind him,” Huddleson said. “Their lawyers are behind him. The mayor is behind him.”

FOX19 NOW contacted Perry. He said he did not wish to comment. FOX19 NOW also contacted the township administrator and township attorney for comment but had not received a response by the time the story was published.

Huddleson is scheduled to appear in court on September 3.
