SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) – US-based Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will open its first namesake hotel brand in Singapore next month. The 591-room flagship will be called Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, a Wyndham Hotel. The hotel will be located at 5 Coleman Street in the Civic District.
The hotel is scheduled to officially open in early 2024, following a multi-million dollar renovation. The property is owned by regional hotel group YTC Hotels, which is part of the YTC Group, which also owns the neighboring Peninsular Hotel. The group also owns the Menara Peninsular Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In February, YTC Group offered the joint sale of the Excelsior Hotel and a shopping center with a reserve price of $458 million and appointed Cushman & Wakefield as marketing agent. The entire development consists of a 21-story tower with a 284-room hotel and a five-story retail building. The tender for the joint sale closed on April 18 without any successful bids.
The launch of the new brand is the international hotel franchise’s first step to further cement its position in the city-state. In a press release, the company explains that Wyndham will double its focus to build a greater presence in the country with its distinctive upscale, mid-range, lifestyle and value brands.
