X-Men #3 reveals how Cyclops funded the new team base – Comic and superhero movie news

Being a superhero is expensive, which is why so many superheroes are independent and wealthy. Even the X-Menwho naturally possess supernatural powers, relied on Professor X’s wealth to finance their mansion and private jet. This raises the question of how the team was able to acquire a new base after the fall of Krakoa and the imprisonment of Charles Xavier. X-Men #3 offers an explanation of how Cyclops acquired a new headquarters for the team.

Written by Jed MacKay, with art by Ryan Stegman, X-Men #3 centers on a confrontation between Cyclops and the Office of National Emergency. The ONE was originally formed to protect mutants after House of M. However, the issue reveals that the organization was recently re-formed with a new agenda to monitor mutant activity.

Cyclops clashes with Agent Lundqvist. The ONE representative is clearly not a fan of the X-Men and doesn’t hide it. In fact, he makes it clear that he isn’t happy that Cyclops led a team that interfered in government affairs. In the midst of this confrontation, Cyclops reveals how he found a new home for his team.

While taking out Agent Lundqvist, Cyclops discusses a recent court case. Apparently, in the months between Fall of the House of X and From the Ashes, he sued the American government for their open support of the anti-mutant group Orchis and their pro-genocide platform.

It is unknown exactly how much Cyclops managed to win from his lawsuit, but it was enough to force a settlement. In lieu of the amount owed to him, Scott Summers settled for ownership of the abandoned Sentinel factory, which is now the X-Men’s home base.

While this is a minor point in the plot of X-Men #3, it has huge implications for the entire Marvel Universe. Even in a fictional universe, suing a government for wrongdoing is a lengthy, time-consuming, and expensive process. The fact that Cyclops was apparently able to force the United States into arbitration so quickly is almost as impressive as his mutant powers. This also raises the question of how many other mutants might have won similar lawsuits.

X-Men #3 is now available in all comic shops.
