Zomato launches order scheduling, available in these 7 cities

Zomato has introduced a new feature that allows customers to plan orders up to two days in advance. The service announced by founder and CEO Deepinder Goyalis currently available in seven major Indian cities.
The Order scheduling Option is live for orders above Rs 1,000 at around 13,000 Restaurants above Delhi Capital TerritoryBengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur. Goyal explained that these restaurants were chosen because of their history of high inventory levels and consistent kitchen preparation times.

“Plan your meals better by ordering up to two days in advance and we’ll deliver on time,” Goyal wrote in a social media post, adding that the company plans to expand the service to more restaurants and cities and eventually extend it to all orders.
This new feature follows recent changes in Zomato’s service offering. The company recently discontinued its Legends intercity food service. delivery service and its hyperlocal delivery service Xtreme, which was launched in October last year for small package deliveries.
Despite these changes, Zomato’s core business of food delivery remains strong. In the first quarter of the current fiscal, the segment’s revenue grew 41% year-on-year to Rs 1,942 crore. Moreover, Blinkit, Zomato’s quick commerce division, more than doubled its revenue during the same period, reaching Rs 942 crore.
